Anchor Bay held a special event at VSDA (Video Software Dealers Association) on Tuesday, July 29th, the same day as the release of the second season of Highlander. Included in the second season set is an entry form to win the 1964 Ford Thunderbird driven by Adrian Paul on Highlander. I had the chance to check out the car, chat with Adrian Paul, and also with Ted Kempgens, the man who restored the car.

The Car
The car is a restored 1964 Ford Thunderbird, and it's very, very nice. Don't worry, I didn't get my grubby fingers on it, but I did check it out. Ted said that they had gutted the car and rebuilt it, mostly for insurance purposes, but also to give the winner one heck of a car. After being in a TV show the car needed a bit of tender loving care.

Adrian Paul
Adrian is a really nice guy. We chatted about DVDs, and a little bit about the show. For the most part I stood and listened to him speak with Anchor Bay President David Vasile and others. He's an easy-going guy and very down to earth; just a regular person that happens to be an actor. I felt slightly embarrassed asking him to sign the booklet from my season 1 set, but he smiled and obliged me. Meeting a star can change your opinion of the person, but meeting Adrian Paul was the highlight of my trip to Las Vegas.

Adrian is excited about the show coming out on DVD. Now he can replace his collection of 3/4" tapes.
